The prime minister today ordered an investigation into a report that some people have been claiming that they could issue a pass to Government House in return for payment.

Srettha Thavisin told reporters that he has never heard of such activity, but views it as unacceptable, adding “I have ordered those concerned to look into the reports and hope that they are untrue.”

He was responding to a report that some people, who wanted a pass to enter the secure confines of Government House, were offered passes in exchange for money.

The passes in question are said to be those issued to senior government officials’ aides, including the PM.

Srettha said he would not check on his own aides and that he is happy with their number.

He was speaking after chairing a meeting of the Internal Security Operations Command, which Defence Minister Sutin Klungsang also attended.
