Most respondents to a recent NIDA Poll say they are not satisfied with the government’s performance over the past nine months and have no confidence in it.

The National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) conducted the survey through phone interviews with 1,310 people, aged 18 and from various backgrounds, on June 4th and 5th about their views of the government.

Asked how satisfied they are with the administration’s performance, the poll shows 31.69% are totally dissatisfied, because the government has been unable to fulfill its election campaign promises, 34.35% are generally not satisfied, because there have been no changes for the better and several projects are delayed.

25.19% said, however, that they are somewhat satisfied and 7.40% are very satisfied, because the government is sincere with the people and is working hard.

1.37% did not answer the question or were not interested.

Regarding confidence in the government, the poll shows 35.95% of the respondents have no confidence at all, because there have been no changes for the better in the past nine months and the government tends to tackle problems which serve their own interests. 35.04% have some but little confidence in the government.

22.14% said they are quite confident in the government and 5.42% said they are very confident.
