Former director of the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), Anon Snitwongse Na Ayudhya, has been faulted by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) for abuse of authority by allegedly using an official car and claiming fuel and expressway charges for private business.

NACC Secretary-General Niwatchai Kasemmongkol said today that the investigating panel had discovered that Anon, while serving as director of GISTDA, had ordered his secretary to seek permission from the central administrative office to use an official car for private trips in Bangkok and surrounding provinces, claiming that they were official trips.

Anon had claimed fuel and tolls from GISTDA for trips from December 2013 to November 2015, totalling 254,585 baht.

Niwatchai said Anon received a monthly salary of 150,000 baht plus other perks, including travel expenses, amounting a 37,500 baht per month.

As such, he said the NACC had faulted the former GISTDA director for abuse of authority, in violation of the anti-corruption law and the Criminal Code.
